NEW! Masterclass series

We know there are a few hockey skills which take a little extra focus and practice to master so we’re introducing a number of evening masterclass sessions, each session focussing on a specific skill. All standards of players are welcome, all we ask is that you come prepared for a focussed session, where the emphasis will be on skill development rather than game play or broader hockey drills. For safety and practical reasons, these sessions have a minimum age associated with them (2020/21 season age groups).

Drag flicking (U12s and upwards)

Great for those attackers out there, especially if you get into a 1 on 1 situation with the goalkeeper. Sessions limited to 10 players.

Disguise passing (U10s and upwards)

A fantastic skill for beating an opponent. Sessions limited to 30 players.

Reverse stick hitting (U10s and upwards)

A great skill for all players on the pitch which can be used in a huge number of scenarios. Sessions limited to 30 players.

You can book any combination of these three skills sessions, with each skill session repeated across the two weeks (see below). All sessions run 17:30 – 19:00

The masterclasses will be run by Will Marshall, Men’s 1s player and coach and Lauren Moors, Ladies 1s coach, with support from other highly experienced players.

Please note:  If players have attended the afternoon camp, there is no supervision provided by OCHC between the afternoon camp and evening masterclass session. We expect the clubhouse to be open for food and drink, players will need to be supervised by a parent/guardian.

FOR ALL SUMMER HOCKEY, PLEASE READ THE IMPORTANT INFORMATION BELOW AND FOLLOW THE DETAILS ON HOW TO BOOK

Important information

The information below sets out the basis upon which we are able to offer Summer hockey camps and Masterclasses (collectively referred to as camps here on in). Please ensure you have read the information below before signing up and follow it when attending. Compliance is essential if we are going to be able to run all of the sessions as planned.

Format of Summer hockey camps

On 17 May 2021, England Hockey confirmed we could move to stage 5 of play. If the Government or England Hockey update the guidance in advance of or during the camps, we may need to adjust the camp format and will be in touch to everyone registered if that is the case.

To ensure we offer safe, fun, quality coaching that follows England Hockey and Government COVID-19 advice, the Summer hockey camps will run for 3 hours with a maximum of 30 players in a group and on a similar basis to training. Players will be asked to remain 2m apart from one another, not to touch equipment other than their own and not to bring kit onto the pitch (other than a water bottle).

Before attending, please ensure your child is registered in Teamo as you will need to check-in and confirm your child is COVID-19 symptom free before playing.

All players must have completed the England Hockey Participation Agreement for OCHC, even if already completed for another club. This must be done before the hockey camp as players will not be allowed on the pitch without this. We record completion in Teamo, if this is not showing for your child but you believe you have completed the agreement, please forward your email confirmation to ochcjuniors@gmail.com

Payment is required at time of booking. If you need to make any changes to your booking, please do so by 5pm on the Friday before the week of the camp you are due to attend. This allows us to finalise our coaching staff commitments. After this date, we are unable to offer a refund if you are then unable to attend (with the exception of COVID symptoms or self-isolation, please see below).

We know hockey camps are more fun when there are plenty of players on the pitch. Whilst rare, in a scenario where we have low numbers booked on to a particular camp, we will seek to combine it with another session to ensure we have enough players to make it a great session.

A parent/guardian is required to be within a 10 minute drive of the club during the camp. Please ensure your emergency contact details are up to date on Teamo and LoveAdmin.

Please ensure your contact details are up to date on LoveAdmin and Teamo when registering for the camp as we will use these to contact you. If parents/guardians are not on site, the coach will assess the injury and call the parent/guardian to ask them to return to the club. In case of serious injury, emergency medical assistance will also be requested.

To book

OCHC members

Please log in to your LoveAdmin account HERE where you can select which days/weeks you wish to book and make payment online. You can find this under ‘payment’ and then ‘extras’.

Book 4 or more sessions and save!

If you wish to book all 4 morning or afternoon sessions in the same week for a player, you will see an option for 4 sessions at £100 in LoveAdmin (as for previous camps).

We are also broadening this offer to include any four sessions for a player over the four weeks of camps for the reduced price of £100. Unfortunately, LoveAdmin isn’t quite that flexible so you will need to email us. If you wish to take advantage of the ‘4 camps for £100’ offer for a single player but split over different weeks, please email ochcjuniors@gmail.com with the player’s name, date of birth and which days you would like to book. We’ll then do the necessary at our end and you will receive an email from LoveAdmin confirming details and asking you to make payment through your account. Any additional days you book at the same time will also be charged at the reduced price of £25 per session.

Please note, part of ability to offer this discount is the reduced admin involved when multiple sessions are booked at the same time. As a result, you need to book the sessions at the same time to take advantage of the discount.

Non-members

We welcome non-members to all of our half-day hockey camps. If you aren’t a member of OCHC, please email ochcjuniors@gmail.com letting us know the player’s name, date of birth and which sessions you wish to book. We will then be in touch with further information.
