We have seen record growth across the club and nowhere more so than in the Junior section, where we run full age groups from U6s to U16s. We aspire to continue growing, whilst retaining the wonderful family club atmosphere that makes us who we are. As part of this, we are looking to build our professional coaching team further and currently have several exciting coaching roles available. Junior Coach

We are seeking passionate and experienced hockey coaches to support the Junior section. The successful candidate will lead an age group, be creative, proactive and deliver the best experience possible for our players. We are looking for coaches with a strong understanding of youth development in hockey, able to motivate and inspire young athletes and a willingness to work collaboratively with club leadership, other coaches, parent volunteers, and assistant coaches. For the right candidate, there is also an opportunity to deliver 1-1 and small group sessions, coach on club hockey camps and coach within the senior section.

Indoor Hockey Coach

We are looking to provide a comprehensive Indoor Hockey training programme from September 2024, focusing on developing technical skills and tactical awareness across our teams, and preparing for competitions during the winter season. Our recent successes, including our Men’s 1st team winning the regional qualifier, highlight our dedication to excellence and our aspirations in Indoor Hockey. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Indoor Hockey Coach to join our team to lead this programme. The successful candidate will lead Indoor Hockey training sessions for our Junior members, ranging from under 10s to under 18s, at our designated venues. They will possess a deep understanding of indoor technical skills and tactics, capable of enhancing the performance of our teams and contributing to their success in competitions.

Old Cranleighan Hockey Club is founded and maintained on the efforts of our army of amazing volunteers, and without them, the club wouldn’t function. We encourage all our members to get involved in volunteering, whether that’s umpiring games, assisting with social events, coaching our juniors, selling kit, managing the daily running of the club, or simply cheering our teams on.

And you don’t need to be a playing member of the club to help out. We welcome mums, dads, partners, boyfriends, girlfriends, friends and anyone willing to support the club!

We are always keen to hear from potential volunteers and can almost always find a role to suit your interests, background and skills.  We are also specifically looking to fill the volunteering roles below. Junior Welfare Officer 

The role focuses on ensuring the well-being of our junior members, actively managing the pastoral aspects of their transition from junior to senior levels. The role holder will play a pivotal role in engaging with parents, addressing concerns, and working collaboratively with the Club Welfare Officer, Junior Chairperson and Junior Director of Hockey to maintain a safe and inclusive environment for our young athletes. Junior Volunteer Coach and Parent Team Rep – Voluntary Roles

We are always on the look out for new volunteers to support our growing Junior section. Whether it is supporting lead coaches to facilitate planned training sessions or acting as a team rep to help assist arrangements for matches, our team of volunteers make an incredible difference to our Junior section.
