Last October and November saw our Director of Junior Hockey, Adam Ward, deliver a fantastic hockey coaching programme to primary school students at Hinchley Wood Primary and Thames Ditton Infants. Over the course of the programme, Adam coached over 180 children from year 2; most of whom were completely new to hockey. The sessions included core skills such as dribbling, passing and shooting and culminated in a tournament where the children were able to test themselves against their peers within their own school.
We received outstanding feedback from both Head Teachers, staff members and parents and are delighted to have been able to contribute to sport provision in our local community. Moving forward, we are committed to offering hockey opportunities to more children within the Thames Ditton area and are looking at ways to make this happen. In the meantime, we are delighted that some of the children involved have since joined us on Sunday mornings in our U7s to take their hockey further.
